To Reach Kelambu waterfall which is about two kilometers from the gate, one needs to be pretty fit to climb the 99 steps up to the viewing site. These stairs were made to provide easy access to the area and increase the safety of visitors. The Kelambu waterfall has five cascading falls in a row, two of which are located in the middle at different levels and are known as Batu Piring falls.The name of the Kelambu falls comes from its form resembling the shape of a drape (kelambu).
To reach Benang Stokel area is relatively easy since the path has been paved and there are two stairways where people have to climb just 26 and 46 steps.
A while ago, the Head of NTB Culture Service, Lalu Gita Aryadi, along with several reporter made a visit to the two locations. According to Gita Aryadi, as a supporting area of Mount Rinjani, these areas have to be well-prepared, ranging from the public facilities to tour guides who need to be ready to guide both domestic and international tourists who come to this area.
Meanwhile, the head of Aik Berik Village, Humaidi and the person in charge of the waterfall area, Abdul Kadir, said that their people have prepared over 50 tour guides who will help explain the area of Kelambu Waterfall.
According to Kadir, there are three choices of path from Aik Berik that people can take to reach the hiking trail to Mount Rinjani. The first trail is for adventures because the path is really quite challenging.
The second one is classified as intermediate, while the third one is considered VIP because it is considered easy enough for older people to go through and it only takes seven hours to be able to reach Segara Anak Lake from this point, before starting on the steep climb up to the peak of Mount Rinjani.
This area offers an alternative route to Rinjani, whilst enjoying an adventure through a tropical forest and visiting some lovely waterfalls and seeing fantastic panorama on the way.
